For the last few weeks, we have been reviewing different diets and evaluating their suitability for pregnancy. Today, we are talking about the ketogenic (keto) diet. The keto diet is higher in fats and oils and restricts carbohydrates to a minimum so that your body uses up its stored carbohydrates and begins burning fat. This is great for weight loss (think postpartum weight loss), but remember that you’re not trying to lose weight when you’re pregnant.
